The Story Behind Tree Fairy (And Why It's Exactly What It Sounds Like)

The Story Behind Tree Fairy (And Why It's Exactly What It Sounds Like)

Yes, we're called Tree Fairy.

Not Tree Skincare. Not Nature Lab. Not something that sounds like it was focus-grouped by seventeen people in a boardroom until all the personality was safely removed.

Tree Fairy. Deliberately.

Here's why.

Fairies are delicate. Fairies are feminine. Fairies are small and pretty and exist to be looked at. That's what the word carries, culturally. Centuries of conditioning that says certain things are for certain people, that softness belongs to one gender, that strength belongs to another, and that anyone who crosses those lines is somehow doing it wrong.

We took that word and we're doing whatever we want with it.

Tree Fairy is strong. Tree Fairy speaks its mind. Tree Fairy has a pirate scar and real skin and no ring light. Tree Fairy thinks you should be an astronaut, a world leader, plumber of the year, or whatever else you actually want to be, and that none of those things have anything to do with your skincare routine or your gender.

The name is the point.

The product names are also the point.

We named our products the way we did because skincare names are usually either aggressively clinical (Hydra-Boost Peptide Complex Pro) or aggressively aspirational (Glow Elixir Radiance Serum). Both are trying to sell you something beyond what's in the bottle.

We went a different direction. A bit fun. A bit irreverent. Because skincare should not be a source of anxiety and it definitely should not take itself this seriously.

On protecting the next generation.

We've written about what influencer culture is doing to young girls, conditioning them to see emptiness as aspiration, to pout and perform and be desired as the goal, while the algorithm quietly buries the astronauts and the activists, the medical staff, and the science teachers who change lives.

Tree Fairy exists in deliberate opposition to that. Every product, every blog, every piece of copy we put out is built on the same foundation: your skin is not a problem. You are not a before photo. Healthy skin is your best skin, and your best skin is just your skin, looked after.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

And men are already Tree Fairy.

We didn't build a men's range. We thought about it. There was a moment where Tree Fella seemed like a fun idea.

And then we thought: why?

Why create a separate product, a separate brand, a separate price point, for skin that works exactly the same way? Skin is skin. The ingredients that work, work. The only reason to create a men's version is to charge men separately for the same thing, which is just grey tax, and we've all seen what pink tax did to women for decades.

Tree Fairy is for anyone with skin. That's the whole market.

No beauty standards. No self-proclaimed influencers. No gender roles.

Just healthy skin. And healthy skin is your best skin.
