Feminist Natural Skincare | No Gender Roles or Beauty Standards
Let's be honest about something the natural skincare industry doesn't want to say out loud.
Almost every brand in this space claims to be anti-beauty-standards. They post about body positivity. They say they don't believe in influencer culture. They use words like real and authentic and inclusive in their marketing copy.
And then they show you a flawless face. A certain body type. A "natural beauty" who still looks like she stepped off a runway. They partner with the self-proclaimed influencer who promises she's "not like other influencers." They talk about skincare "for everyone" but their imagery tells a very different story.
The message underneath it all is the same one the beauty industry has always sold: here's what you should look like. Here's what beautiful means. Here's the standard.
Tree Fairy refuses that.
We're Not Anti-Influencer Because It's Trendy. We Mean It.
We don't work with influencers. Not the micro-influencers. Not the "relatable" ones. Not the ones who say they only promote products they genuinely love. Not any of them.
Because the influencer model, at its core, is built on aspiration. On look at me and be more like me. And that model is incompatible with what Tree Fairy stands for.
We're not selling you a look. We're not selling you a lifestyle. We're selling you skincare that works, for eczema, for redness, for menopausal skin, for scars, for itching, for skin that just wants to feel good in itself. That's it. Your skin. Healthy. Whatever that looks like on you.
Feminist Skincare Is Not a Marketing Angle. It's a Stance.
Feminism, real feminism, is about dismantling the systems that tell people what they should be, how they should look, and who gets to define beauty. The skincare industry has historically been one of the loudest architects of those systems.
Tree Fairy exists in direct opposition to that.
We don't:
- Market differently to men and women
- Use language that implies your skin needs to be "fixed" to meet a standard
- Suggest that skincare is about looking younger, thinner, softer, or more conventionally attractive
- Promote gender roles, in our imagery, in our copy, or in our product naming
We do:
- Make skincare for skin, full stop
- Talk about what our products actually do, not what they'll make you look like
- Take a position, publicly, and hold it
Because we think that's what it means to actually be an anti-beauty-standards brand, rather than just claiming to be one.
Gender Neutral Skincare That Actually Is Gender Neutral
"Gender neutral" has become another marketing term, slapped on a product because the packaging is beige and the scent is "clean." That's not what we mean.
Tree Fairy products are gender neutral because skin doesn't have a gender. Eczema doesn't check your pronouns. Redness doesn't care how you identify. Healthy skin is just healthy skin, and everyone deserves it.
Our range works for every body. Every skin type. Every life stage. No product is "for her" or "for him." There's no pink tax here. There's no version of our moisturiser with florals on the label priced differently to the one with clean lines.
There's just skincare. Made well. For skin.
The World Can Change. Tree Fairy Is Part of That.
We know this sounds ambitious. We're a small Australian natural skincare brand, not a global conglomerate. But we believe that change doesn't come from the top of the industry. It comes from the brands that refuse to play by its rules.
Every time someone buys Tree Fairy instead of a brand that quietly perpetuates the standards it claims to oppose, that's a vote for something different. Every time someone discovers that their skin can just be, without chasing a beauty ideal, that's the world changing, one person at a time.
That's our aim. To be part of the change. And we can.
No beauty standards. No self-proclaimed influencers. No gender roles. Just healthy skin. And healthy skin is your best skin.
